Mitchell Shifflett was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run as Virginia defeated Virginia Tech 4-3 at Davenport Field on Saturday.
Colin Harrington, Stephen Bruno and Nick Howard each had two hits for the Cavaliers.
Scott Silverstein pitched six innings, allowing three runs on three hits and had nine strikeouts for the Cavaliers.
Andrew Rash led the Hokies, going 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run.
